Shipping policy

At Hikayat Banaras, we deliver handcrafted pieces to your doorstep with care and transparency. Please review these guidelines before ordering.

Order Processing

Ready-to-ship: dispatched within 5–6 business days of order confirmation. Made-to-order: dispatch varies between 7–30 days; exact timelines shared individually. Our made-to-order pieces are handwoven by skilled artisans. A slight delay may occasionally occur — quality craftsmanship takes time, and we appreciate your patience. Dispatch notifications are not sent by default; you're welcome to request updates anytime.

Domestic Shipping (India)

Delivery: 5–8 working days from dispatch. Charges: ₹100 per kg (non-refundable). Cash on Delivery available on domestic orders up to ₹25,000, with a ₹500 advance payable per piece ordered (non-refundable) — balance due on delivery. Couriers: Blue Dart, DTDC, Shree Maruti (courier selection not available). We deliver across India, including remote areas. Express shipping available on special request at additional cost.

International Shipping

We ship worldwide — USA, UK, Canada, Australia, UAE, Singapore, and more. Delivery: 7–12 working days after dispatch, depending on customs. Charges vary by location and weight, shared during ordering. Shipped via Blue Dart / DTDC (DHL network), tracking provided. Import duties, taxes, and customs fees are the customer's responsibility. COD and free shipping are not available on international orders. International orders require full advance payment.

Refused or Undelivered Parcels

If delivery is refused or the address is incorrect, the order is cancelled only if the parcel returns to us in perfect condition. After inspection, the amount is issued as a credit note, with delivery charges (both ways, including COD handling where applicable) deducted.

Damaged Packages

If your parcel arrives damaged, contact us immediately on WhatsApp (+91 73078 59235). A full unboxing video will be required.

Important Notes

We do not offer shipping insurance, including on high-value items. Please ensure someone is available at the delivery address. Courier delays after dispatch are beyond our control, but we will assist in resolving them. No compensation is provided for delivery delays.
