Return and Cancellation

At Hikayat Banaras, every piece is handcrafted and often made to order — prepared with special attention, and not easily replaced or restocked. Because of this, we follow a strict no-return, no-refund policy, with the limited exceptions below. Please read carefully before ordering.

When Exchange / Credit Note Applies

Only in these two situations: you received the wrong product, or you received a defective or damaged product. Natural handloom characteristics — slight weaving irregularities, zari texture, thread overlaps, hand-finishing marks — are not defects.

Conditions (all must be met)

Report within 48 hours of delivery. A full, uncut unboxing video is mandatory — showing the sealed package, the opening, and the product from start to finish. Share the video only on WhatsApp: +91 73078 59235. The product must be unused, unaltered, and in original condition. Claims without a valid unboxing video cannot be accepted.

Complaint Process (Mandatory)

Fill the complaint form immediately — complaints are not processed through WhatsApp messages alone. Hikayat Banaras reserves the right to approve or decline any request after internal quality verification.

Resolution: Exchange or Credit Note Only

We do not offer monetary refunds. Approved cases are resolved through an exchange or a credit note for future purchases, issued within 4–6 business days after the returned product passes our quality check. Shipping charges are non-refundable, and any price difference is payable by the customer. The return address is shared only after approval, case by case.

No Exchange / Credit Note For

Change of mind after delivery. Correct and undamaged product delivered. No valid unboxing video. Colour variation due to screen settings. Natural weaving irregularities. Fabric feel, fall, weight, or texture differing from personal preference. Personal styling expectations.

Cancellations

Orders cannot be cancelled once placed — this applies to both ready-to-ship and made-to-order pieces, since each is curated or crafted specifically for you.

No Compensation

No monetary compensation is provided for delays, inconvenience, or dissatisfaction under any circumstance.

Store's Right to Cancel

Hikayat Banaras reserves the right to cancel any order at its sole discretion. Any amount paid will be returned as a credit note or, where required by law, to the original payment method.
