Return and Cancellation

At Hikayat Banaras, every piece is thoughtfully crafted and carefully dispatched. Our textiles are handcrafted and often curated or made to order, which means each piece is prepared with special attention and cannot be easily replaced or restocked.

Because of the nature of handcrafted textiles, we follow a strict no-return policy, with limited exceptions mentioned below.

We request you to read this policy carefully before placing your order.


🔄 Returns

We do not accept returns, except in the following situations:

• You receive a wrong product, or
• You receive a damaged product

No other circumstances qualify for a return.


✅ Conditions for Exchange / Credit Note

To be eligible for an exchange or credit note, all the following conditions must be met:

• The issue must be reported within 24–48 hours of delivery
• A full, uncut unboxing video is mandatory

The video must clearly show:

• The sealed package
• The opening of the parcel
• The product received (from start to finish)

Additional requirements:

• The video must be shared only on WhatsApp at +91 73078 59235
• Claims without a valid unboxing video will not be accepted
• The product must be unused, unaltered, and in original condition

Hikayat Banaras reserves the right to approve or reject any request after internal quality verification.


📋 Complaint Process (Mandatory Step)

To ensure fair and systematic handling of concerns, Hikayat Banaras follows a standard complaint procedure.

If you wish to request an exchange or credit note, the following process must be followed:

  1. Contact us on WhatsApp (+91 73078 59235) and share your full uncut unboxing video.

  2. Our team will review the initial details and share a complaint form with you.

  3. The complaint form must be filled immediately after it is shared.

Please note:

• Filling the complaint form is a mandatory step in the review process
• Complaints are not processed through WhatsApp messages alone
• Our team will review the submitted form and video internally
• Once reviewed, we will update you on the next steps within the standard processing timeline

Hikayat Banaras reserves the right to approve or decline any request after internal review.


🔁 Exchange / Credit Note

Hikayat Banaras does not offer monetary refunds.

Approved cases will be resolved through:

Exchange, or
Credit note for future purchases

Process

• The return address will be shared individually if required
• Once the returned product passes our quality check, the exchange or credit note will be issued within 4–6 business days

Please note:

Shipping charges are non-refundable
• Any price difference (if applicable) must be settled by the customer

⚠️ No monetary compensation is provided for delays, inconvenience, or dissatisfaction.


🚫 No Exchange / Credit Note Applicable In

Exchange or credit note will not be provided if:

• You change your mind after delivery
• The product delivered is correct and undamaged
• A proper unboxing video is not shared
• There are slight colour variations due to screen differences
• Minor weaving irregularities are noticed (these are natural in handcrafted textiles)
• Fabric feel, texture, softness, fall, or weight differs from personal preference
• The concern is based on personal styling expectations

Please note:

Slight irregularities in handloom weaving, zari texture, thread overlaps, or hand-finishing marks are inherent characteristics of handcrafted textiles and are not considered defects.


❌ Cancellations

No cancellations are allowed once an order is placed.

This applies to:

Ready-to-ship products
Made-to-order products

Since each piece is curated or crafted specifically, cancellation requests cannot be accommodated at any stage.


📦 Return Address

Return address is shared only when required, and only after approval, on a case-by-case basis.
